Question 4

Question 3 - Feedback response

Powered by emaze

Question 3 - What have you learnt from your audience feedback?

Over the year I have asked for audience feedback to help me with my work:

Create your own user feedback survey

Audience feedback has helped me a lot over the year. It has helped me to improve all my work so that it can suit my target audience more. Whilst creating my print products and trailer it was good to get feedback because the audience knows what they want to see on the trailer. It helped me with my print products because I knew how to relate it back to my genre. I also learnt how to use my colours effectively on my print products. For examples using the same colours so that everything is consistent. I also used the same colours for my print products and intertitles because it helps showing how all of the products are linked together.

Question 2 - How effective is the combination of your main products and ancillary texts?

Planning on Photo Shoots

This is the photo shoot planning for the pictures we are going to use for our print products. This photo shoot planning shows the characters that are going to be on the print products. Where the pictures are going to be taken and what day. Finally, this planning show what the characters will be wearing, and how they are going to look in the pictures.

Risk Assessments

The main risk we have in our final film trailer is when Twyla gets pushed down the stairs by Shikiel. To make everything safe, we are going to film it in stages. For example the first shot will be of Shikiel pushing me. The next shot will start off with me half way down the stairs then falling a bit more. The last shot will show me starting from the bottom and me falling onto the floor.

Key Scenes Editing

In the first key scene you can see Shikiel pusing Twyla down the stairs. To make this creative I added in a slow motion effect on the push so that it makes it more effective for the audience. I also put a black out on there to show the effect of the fall.

The key scene starts of with a mid shot, which then leads to a two shot and it ends in a high angle.

The second key scene is the scene where Twyla is walking down the corridor in the flats. It shows her looking at her phone reading her messages. I'm going to add sound in this scene and I will increase the tempo which will increase in tension and drama.

This key scene just shows the same shot of Twyla walking and it is a close up shot of her walking down the corridor.

In this scene it shows that Nathanael is trying to ring Twyla to just check on her, not releasing that she has just been killed by being pushed down the stairs.

This key scene just shows the same shot of a close up shot of the camera zoomed in on Twyla's phone showing that Nathanael is trying to ring her.

In this scene it shows Nathanael trying to convince Twyla to make up her mind about choosing who she wants to be with, either him or Shikiel.

This key scene is a two shot of Twyla and Nathanael talking in the car.

Example Layouts

Film logo ideas

I have asked my target audience which film logo they like the most. A lot of my target audience said the like the second one on the left. This is because it is an unusual logo and it is creative. However, some of my audience may struggle to read what it says. My target audience also said that I should try and think of another tag line other than 'expect the unexpected'. This is so that my audience can have more to choose from to use in my trailer.

Shikiel - Aged 18. Really tall. Ethnicity - Black. Student at college. Loving having a joke with people. Has a part time job. He is very fashionable and he loves being around his friends. In our production Twyla is portrayed as being a outstanding, caring sixth form student whose in a serious relationship with Shikiel. The audience witness her character become emotionally depressed. She eventually cracks until pressure and tells Shikiel the truth about her secret relationship with Nathaniel. This ultimately leads to her death.

Locations : A majority of our production will be shot in Sutton Coldfield and Digbeth. The narrative of our production revolves around three young adults in a urban environment. The first key scene will be shoot in Sutton coldfield shopping centre. This scene will include Both Twyla and Shikiel walking home from a night out. The restaurants and shops featured in the scene will help to indicate that couple are walking home from a night out.  The second key scene will be shoot outside of a busy coffee shop. This scene will include Twyla and Nathaniel meeting up behind Shikiel back. Coffee shops are social places were people talk and meet in public. This is good location to use because it gives the illusion that the two are meeting in secret. The Third key scene will be shoot in a Shikiels flat. This scene involves Twyla and Shikiel getting into a huge argument which results in Twylas death. the last scene will be in empty allotment outside of Shikiels flat. Isolated places have connotations of loneliness, fear and the unknown. The scene features Shikiel discovering that is still alive

Feedback on my Production Company Logo Ideas

All these logo's are possible logo's to use for my trailer for my production company logo's. The name of my production logo is going to be Dark Sky production. I tried to make all of them different so that my target audience had different ones to choose from. A lot of my target audience liked the second production company logo because they are used to see production logo's on a black background and this one is different. However, they thought I could've made the text different to make it more exciting for them. This would ask help to attract my audience more.

Many of my target audience didn't like the third production company logo, they thought it was too confusing and they couldn't read what it said. However, they did think it was different and interesting.

The first and last example of the production company logo was liked a lot, because everything stood out on the page and they could see everything clear. However, they would've liked the background colour to be different so that it makes it more exciting and interesting for the audience. This would also attract more people to watch the film.
